The BusReady ambassador program provides an excellent opportunity for teachers of kindergarten to Grade 7 to schedule in-school transit ambassador visits during May and June. However, this program is currently only available in certain communities, with the possibility of expanding to additional communities in the future. It is important to note that the program’s availability is subject to change based on demand.

What to expect?
The BusReady school program provides an opportunity for children to meet a BusReady Ambassador who will engage with them and teach them about various aspects of public transit. The ambassador will discuss how public transit impacts our community, emphasize the importance of accessibility, teach students how to ride the bus with proper rider etiquette and courtesy seating education, and touch upon topics such as sustainability and the future of transit. The visit will conclude with a tour of the bus, which will help reinforce the students’ passenger skills.
The BusReady Ambassadors will move from classroom to classroom to deliver the presentation. The school will need to provide parking space for the 40-foot bus on the school grounds, and the bus will remain stationary during the visit, unless otherwise coordinated with permission forms. Schools are encouraged to have all interested K-G7 classes participate in the program, as the presentation is tailored for each age group to match developmental abilities. In order to book a date for your school, you will need to sign up at least three interested classes. Each class presentation will take approximately 1 hour and consist of two modules – an in-class session and a bus tour.
