BusReady Ambassador Program

The BusReady Ambassador Program provides an excellent opportunity for BC teachers of kindergarten to Grade 7 to schedule in-school transit ambassador visits to their school. The program is currently offered in specific regions in BC, and open to all public schools and private schools who request the program.

Program Eligibility Requirements

Please ensure your school meets these eligibility requirements before proceeding with your booking request.

Your school has not hosted theBusReady program during the previous school year (2023/2024).

Your school has a bus loop or a spacious parking area for our 40ft heavy-duty bus. After the request is made, BC Transit’s safety team will confirm there’s enough space to maneuver safely in and out of the designated parking area.

You are able to fill at least three classes for one full day of the program (1 hour per class).

Your school schedule can accommodate the program within the timeframe of 10 AM to 2 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. We do not offer the program on Mondays or Fridays.

Designate one person as our contact, preferably the principal or vice-principal, so we can communicate prior to the booking.

If your school is unable to meet all of the above requirements, unfortunately we are unable to offer the BusReady Ambassador Program at your school at this time.

What to expect?

The BusReady school program offers your classroom the chance to meet a BusReady Ambassador who will deliver an interactive and engaging presentation on public transit.

Topics covered in the classroom:

Impact of public transit on our community

Highlight the importance of accessibility and courtesy seating

Proper rider etiquette and safety

Sustainability and the future of transit

The visit will conclude with a bus tour to reinforce the student’s passenger skills. The program duration is 1 hour per classroom.
