It’s best to stand one meter back from the curb, so that the bus has space to safely pull into the stop.  As your bus arrives, it helps to signal the bus driver and let them know you would like to board.  In the summer heat, try to stay out of the direct sunlight! 

Seats are for bodies only, not bags, wet towels, or sandy beach toys.  Always hold on to your bag on your lap or between your feet to keep the walkway clear and keep seats open for others. 

Any food or drink brought on board must be in a closed container that is spill proof. Water can be consumed on board provided it is in a sturdy container with a lid that will prevent it from spilling. Take your garbage with you when you leave the bus. We appreciate your help keeping the bus clean. 

To stay cool in the summer heat and avoid sunburns, wear light, breathable clothing.  Wet clothing can make seats damp, so change into dry clothes before boarding the bus. 

Know before you go! It is always important to plan your route before you board the bus. Always check with a trusted adult to confirm your plan. 

BC Transit buses are equipped with bike racks that can each hold two bikes. Don’t forget to let the driver know you are loading a bike and give them a heads up before you get off the bus.  If you have a scooter or skateboard, please fold it up and carry it on board.
